Russell J. Conrad spent eighteen years as a service advisor and yard foreman for a large New Jersy Marina. He brings a wealth of knowledge to his marine
surveying including fiberglass and gelcoat repairs on all makes and models of boats. He worked as a marine mechanic with experience on Chrysler, Crusader, Westerbeke, Yanmar, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel Cummins, Mercury Outboard, Mercruiser Inboard and I/O. OMC I/O, Yamaha and Honda Outboards. Volvo diesel and gas engines and Volvo I/O. He has also estimated and coordinated repairs for normal maintenance and insurance claims on vessels up to 100'.Russell also has experience as a machinist manufacturing prop shafts and couplings, as well as propeller reconditioning. He was also a boiler technition in the Navy, responsible for propulsion and support systems onboard the USS Forrestal. Before switching to full time marine surveying, Russell attended an extensive course specifically on marine surveying at the Chapman School of Seamanship, where he received 180 hours in theory and field experience in Hull Design & Construction, Support Systems, Propulsion & Auxiliary Systems and Business, Professional & Legal Considerations.
